THE STATISTICAL PROPERTIES FOR LENGTH- BIASED OF INVERSE GAMMA DISTRIBUTION
This paper develops a length-biased of the inverse gamma distribution (LBIG) with three parameters. The statistical properties of this distribution are discussed and studied. These properties include the form of cumulative distribution function, form of hazard function, the moments, central tendency (mean, median and mode), the variance, the coefficient of skewness and the coefficient of kurtosis. It also includes estimates of the distribution parameters using the moments method and the maximum likelihood estimation method. Random samples at different sizes were selected from inverse gamma distribution with specified parameters and using them for calculating results of both moments and maximum likelihood methods.
