ANALYTICAL RESULTS AND NUMERICAL SIMULATION FOR A BVP DESCRIBING A LAMINAR MHD FLOW OVER A VERTICAL CYLINDER
This paper deals with an analytical analysis and a numerical study of a boundary value problem resulting from a self-similarity transformation of the partial differential equations governing the steady flow of an incompressible electrically conducting fluid over a semi-infinite moving vertical cylinder under the inuence of a uniform transverse magnetic field. Existence of solutions is obtained using a shooting argument. Uniqueness results are also obtained for a certain parameter range. Numerical solutions are established and give the effect of magnetic parameter and suction/injection parameter on the velocity profiles.
