COKE FORMATION QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS ON IMPREGNATED AND SOL-GEL CATALYSTS APPLIED IN THE DRY REFORM OF METHANE
This work addresses the formation coke investigation in the catalyst synthesized by the sol-gel and impregnation method. Study considered the catalyst characterization and application to the dry reforming process. The obtained results indicate a high surface area for the sol-gel catalyst, favoring the dry reforming of methane. This was confirmed in the catalytic tests that indicate the Ni-catalysts prepared by the sol-gel method presented the highest methane conversion. Finally, the sol-gel catalysts displaying stable long-term operation and a better catalytic activity with practically the same amount of coke formed prepared catalyst by the impregnated method.
