EXPONENT TWO IN CLASS GROUPS OF REAL QUADRATIC FIELDS WITH DISCRIMINANT AND PRIME-PRODUCTION OF EULER-RABINOWITSCH POLYNOMIALS
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the class groups of real quadratic fields with to be generated by ambiguous ideals in terms of the prime-production of the related Euler-Rabinowitsch polynomial. This is tantamount to the group having exponent 1 or 2 given in terms of the behaviour of quadratic polynomials.
