MHD FREE CONVECTION FLOW PAST AN ACCELERATED VERTICAL PLATE IN A STABLY STRATIFIED POROUS MEDIUM
Free convective flow past an accelerated vertical plate in the presence of a transverse magnetic field in a stably stratified porous medium is investigated. Flows are induced by an impulsive (step) change in plate temperature. The exact solutions to the governing equations have been obtained by the Laplace transform technique. Expressions for temperature and velocity are obtained. Variations of temperature and velocity are shown graphically to show the effects of different parameters such as Darcy number, Grashof number, stratification parameter and magnetic field. Skin friction and Nusselt number are also obtained.
