A NOTE ON COMPARING TWO INDEPENDENT POPULATION MEANS
Comparing means of two independent populations is widely studied and implemented. Two independent population means are compared using parametric and non-parametric methods with variant distributions, variances, and sample sizes. When samples are smaller, the normal test is robust against the data distribution and has a higher power when compared to t-tests and the commonly used nonparametric choices.
bootstrap distribution, normal score test, permutation test, rank-sum test.
