ELIMINATION OF FECAL COLIFORMS IN STABILIZATION LAGOONS WITH DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENTS
A disadvantage of a system of lagoons treatment is the requirement of ground, so it is advisable to analyze several proposals in design. The aim of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of results in the design of a treatment plant based on a lagoon system. We analyzed different configurations with different number of partitions in the facultative pond with the purpose of establishing the smallest area possible to implement the project. The schemes analyzed satisfactorily meet the maximum permissible concentration of pollutants indicating regulation. The obtained results show greater efficiency in the removal of fecal coliforms in arrangements that include screens. It is recommended that this study is carried out experimental scale and then check the results with which determining the design procedure.
