The idea of complements of hyperedges in simple hypergraphs is extended to that of complemented balances of hypergraphs. Complemented balances that retain the vertex set of their originating hypergraphs are characterized. Undirected graphs (special types of hypergraphs) that are totally complemented-edged are described.
