Spearman’s rho (r) and Kendall’s tau (t) are two most commonly used association measures. Under most situations in practice, r is found to be larger than t. In this short note, we propose a conjecture about a condition when r is larger or less than t. Some computational simulations are conducted to support the conjecture.
