Tu [5] proposed a beautiful method for investigating Bäcklund transformations of a kind of nonlinear evolution equations. Based on this, we further consider the Bäcklund transformation of the well-known Poisson equation involving four parameters, from which general soliton solutions of the equation with two arbitrary constants are obtained.
