The effect of noise on the human system and in particular, the nervous system which is known theoretically is studied rather mathematically. Mathematical models are built that can be used to study the movement of chemicals at the synapse in a given neuron as well as that of the propagation of the action potential along the neuron. These models were made possible by drawing analogy from the theory of electrical wave transmission in a wire. The second model which is the main model, derives from the cable network theory for electrical transmission since the neurons have features that enable potential propagation along it.
