AN ENTHALPY MODEL OF SOLIDIFICATION WITH DIFFUSE INTERFACE AND CONVECTION CORRECTIONS
Equations describing the solidification process with diffusive interface and convection are derived from first principles using the enthalpy model approach. In particular, we keep terms in the mass, energy and impulse conservations laws, that come from the convection in the mushy region and are generally neglected, although they can be of the leading order there.
