REPRESENTATIONS OF BRAID GROUPS VIA CONJUGATION ACTIONS ON CONGRUENCE SUBGROUPS

Abstract:

We construct two families of representations of the braid group by considering conjugation actions on congruence subgroups of We study the faithfulness of these maps, and reprove a result of Moran [8].
