THE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE ON THE LUMINESCENCE BEHAVIOR IN Tm3+-DOPED BaY2F8 CRYSTALS
The Tm3+-doped BaY2F8 crystal was grown by temperature gradient method. The temperature dependence of emission spectra of Tm3+-doped BaY2F8 crystal has been investigated in the temperature range from room temperature (296K) to 12K. The intense emissions were observed at 780-830nm, 1190-1220nm and 1420-1490nm. The temperature-dependent curves of effective bandwidth were obtained using a bandwidth function. With increase in the temperature, the intensity of the emission bands decreased, while the effective bandwidth increased. This phenomenon was discussed in terms of electron-phonon interaction and non-radiative decay rate.
