A METRIC PROCEDURE FOR CARDINAL PREFERENCES
In this paper, we define a distance function for cardinal preferences such that well-known distance axioms in ranking framework are still filled. The obtained distance called “grade-based distance” is equivalent to Cook-Seiford distance and is computed in polynomial time. The grade-based distance is a generalization of Cook-Seiford distance in the sense that it deals with ordinal data and cardinal ones as well. Suggestions for future research directions are given.
