COMPARATIVE COOKING TESTS OF TWO PARABOLIC AND ELLIPTICAL SOLAR CONCENTRATORS AT COVERED FIREPLACES LOCATED IN A GREENHOUSE AREA
The performance of the solar concentrator whose focal point is located at the top of the opening aperture is often affected by the effect of the wind. Two solar concentrators, one of which is parabolic and the other ellipsoidal at the focal points above the aperture gap, are designed. These two prototypes are distinguished specifically from the other concentrators on one hand by the presence of a glazed cubic box which surrounds the receiver and on the other hand by the design of the receiver whose position of the base of the pan is at a distance from the focal spot called the rear axial distance. The purpose of our study is to compare the performance of these two concentrators experimentally. Comparative cooking tests on eggs are carried out with the two prototypes. The results obtained are satisfactory and gave very low cooking times. In addition, the parabolic concentrator showed better performance compared to the ellipsoidal concentrator.
