A PIECEWISE POLYNOMIAL APPROXIMATION FOR SOLVING NONLINEAR OPTIMAL CONTROL PROBLEMS
This paper introduces a numerical method for treating nonlinear optimal control problems. The control variables are approximated using a piecewise polynomial parameterization, which can accurately represent these variables with only a few parameters. The optimal control problem is reduced to unconstrained optimization problem. To show the efficiency and reliability of the proposed method, we present results and comparisons at the end of the paper.
