TWO DIMENSIONAL DIRECT NUMERICAL AND LARGE EDDY SIMULATION OF SHOCK-TURBULENT MIXING LAYER INTERACTION USING DIFFERENT SGS MODELS
In this paper, performance of one-equation subgrid scale stress models of LES in simulating the two dimensional compressible temporal mixing layers has been studied. For 2D flows at results of Smagorinsky, Yoshizawa’s one-equation, dynamic one-equation and Spalart-Allmaras one-equation models are compared with DNS data. Concerning the results of 2D flow, the performance of all three models is similar. Furthermore, the 2D flow characteristics and phenomena with different Mach numbers of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.4 have been studied by DNS method.
