Abstract: We propose a new class of distributions with two extra positive parameters. Some special cases are presented. We derive some mathematical properties of this class including explicit expressions for the quantile function, ordinary and incomplete moments, generating function, mean deviations, two types of entropy, reliability, order statistics and their moments. We discuss estimation of the model parameters by maximum likelihood and provide an application to a real data set. |
Keywords and phrases: estimation, mean deviation, moment, negative binomial distribution. |
