A NOTE ON THE ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF A NONLINEAR SYSTEM OF STOCHASTIC DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS

Abstract: A nonlinear difference equation model proposed by Wikan and Eide [8] was formulated in stochastic terms by Josephy et al. in [1] and [2]. In this paper, we will compare the asymptotic behaviors of the stochastic formulations provided in [1] and [2]. This analysis may have implications for the ability to properly identify the appropriate population model based upon observed data which may consequently impact parameter estimation and the understanding of the mechanisms driving the population evolution. |
