A MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR THE GENSINI INDEX
Anna Kokla (Greece) and George Tzavelas (Greece)
|
Abstract: Gensini Index is an index in cardiology which indicates the
degree of severity of the coronary heart disease. This empirical index is based
on the position, the percentage of the stenosis and the artery where it appears.
The aim of this paper is to replace Gensini Index with a mathematical model. The
resulting expression is a mathematical function easily integrated in a software.
The statistical properties of the new index are investigated and a logistic
model for the prediction of a cardiac problem based on this index is
constructed. |
Keywords and phrases: Gensini Index, interpolating polynomial, least squares estimation, logistic regression. |
