Abstract: In this paper, a new curve of inequality which is labelled as absolute partial mean curve (APM) is introduced. The curve gives the idea of absolute inequality and is related with some other existing inequality curves viz. Lorenz curve, generalized Lorenz curve, Bonferroni curve, absolute Lorenz curve and Comic curve. Absolute partial mean curve index (API) has also been introduced and its expressions for some well known distributions have been computed. Some results and application of absolute partial mean curve (APM) in the field of reliability setup has also been explored. Absolute partial mean curve ordering has been defined as well and is shown to depend upon the parameters of the underlying distributions. |
