Abstract: Maximum likelihood estimation has been widely known in logistic regression and discrimination by standard form. However, in statistical research, likelihood function can be generalized by joining any parameter using Richard’s curve. Then the problem of existence, uniqueness, and location of maximum likelihood estimates tends to alternative form by the three mutually exclusive and exhaustive categories: complete separation, quasi-complete separation and overlap. |
Keywords and phrases: logistic discrimination, logistic regression, maximum likelihood estimator, complete separation, quasi-complete separation, overlap. |
