Abstract: Weibull
distribution has many applications in engineering. This distribution is used to
model extreme values when sample size is rather large and some general
conditions hold for the main population.
In
this paper, we will find Bayes estimates of the parameters of this distribution
under asymmetric Linex loss function introduced by Varian [in Studies in
Bayesian Econometrics and Statistics in Honor of Leonard J. Savage, eds. Stephen
E. Fienberg and Arnold Zellner, Amsterdam: North-Holland (1975), 195-208] which
is a recommended choice in asymmetric over-or under-estimation problems. The
estimators are compared with Bayes estimators under squared-error loss. The
reliability function for the distribution is also estimated under these loss
functions. |
