Abstract: In this paper, we present
discriminant procedures that are based on a
pairwise coupling procedure for two-class
classifiers. The two-class classifiers used in
this paper as the building blocks in a pairwise
coupling procedure are: the linear discriminant
function which maximizes the area under ROC
curve and the linear discriminant function which
maximizes the given type of distance between the
classes. |
Keywords and phrases: pairwise coupling procedure, ROC curves, probability distances. |
