A TIME-DEPENDENT POISSON PROCESS APPROACH TO CHAIN SMOKING BEHAVIOR
Yong Mun (USA) and Jisun Mun (USA)
|
Abstract: Although many studies have
linked habitual smoking with potential risk factors,
a limited number of articles try to understand chain
smoking behavior. This article models the hazard
function for such recurrent chain smoking events by
applying techniques of a well-known population
process with the proportional intensity assumption. |
Keywords and phrases: time-dependent Poisson process, Markov process, proportional intensity, chain smoking. |
