Abstract: This work deals with a different use of sensitivity analysis to characterize the steady-state behavior of solar collectors and more specifically evacuated tube collectors, which are often used for solar cooling. First, a dynamic model of evacuated tube collector (ETC) is presented. Then, a sensitivity analysis based on a spectral analysis (FAST method) has been proposed and applied to the model. This analysis points out the most significant parameters that influence the behavior of the model. Lastly, an application of sensitivity analysis is investigated to describe the outlet temperature of the solar collector by a polynomial regression called “metamodel”. The metamodel approach proposes a local approximation of the solar collector output working under steady-state conditions. The main advantage of this approach is that it is not necessary to conduct experimental surveys to obtain an accurate steady-state model. The range of validity of the metamodel is wider than the steady-state models developed from experimental tests proposed by EN 12975-2. Finally, the sensitivity analysis coupled with the metamodel approach is an interesting alternative to experimental methods in terms of time and money. |
