Abstract: Combined periodic heat and mass transfer free convection flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past an infinite isothermal vertical porous plate in slip flow regime with homogenous chemical reaction of first order has been studied. Assuming variable suction velocity at the plate, analytical expressions for flow characteristics have been obtained. The effects of fundamental parameters on the flow variables are discussed quantitatively with the aid of graphs for the velocity and concentration profiles as well as the fluctuating parts of skin friction and mass transfer. Comparison between the results of the present analytical model with previously published works provides excellent agreement. It is observed that the chemical reaction decelerates the fluid velocity as well as species concentration, whereas chemical reaction leads to increase the amplitude of skin friction. |
